Post ICU was proud to be a table sponsor at the first annual Soiree Dinner for the American Delirium Society (ADS) in Sacramento. Over the course of two days, Joe Belanger had the pleasure of meeting many dedicated professionals who are on the front lines of delirium research and prevention.

Here’s how he describes the experience:

Attending various talks and presentations, I gained valuable insights into the latest research, tools, and protocols being used to raise awareness and treat delirium.

The Soiree Dinner was a highlight of the event. I had the privilege of sharing a table with an exceptional group of individuals, including Leanne Boehm, Caitlin Petalver, Kaitlin Adduono, Alexandra Barry, Heidi Smith, and Stacey Williams. Their dedication and insights were truly inspiring.

A special thanks to Leanne Boehm for connecting me with so many incredible individuals in her network. I am excited to be working with Leanne on a study for Post ICU at Vanderbilt, which was a key reason for my attendance at the conference. This collaboration promises to yield valuable insights and further our understanding of post-ICU care.

Clay Angel played a significant role in enhancing my conference experience. Not only did he help me secure a last-minute spot on the boat cruise—a highlight of the event—but he also introduced me to many nurses and doctors throughout the conference, ensuring my experience was exceptional.

Additionally, I connected with many people from Vanderbilt ICU and the Monroe PICU at Vanderbilt, including Heidi Smith and Alexandra Barry. I am particularly excited about my upcoming visit to the Monroe PICU to meet Alexandra Barry and Heidi Smith again. I look forward to shadowing them for a day in the PICU, gaining firsthand experience and further understanding of the pediatric critical care environment.

Overall, the experience was immensely enriching, and I am grateful for the opportunity to engage with such a passionate community dedicated to improving patient care and outcomes in the realm of delirium.
